visual studio .net setup : VS.NET Publishing to remote server

Hello,
We are currently in the process of taking development of our main website
in-house. We have FTP access to the server hosting the files, which is
written in ASP (non Dot NET). I FrontPage 2003, I'm able to pull down the
files to a local directory, but does not allow ASP.NET development, which we
want to move to.
How can I use my existing VS.NET installation to pull the site contents
via FTP, to a local IIS server, creating a project preperly? I would ideally
like to be able to click "publish" or something similar and have VS.NET send
the changes file(s) to the current server via FTP.
What is the best way to accomplish this?

Steve

Hi Steve,

Great Question!

First, I am not sure if pulling down the ASP documents via FTP, in Visual
Studio .Net will work. I will check on this and get back to you.

Now you can open your web project using http. However, I would recommend
copying all of the source files down to your local web server, and then
creating a new solution inside of Visual Studio .Net and then import your
ASP pages, and convert them to ASP.Net.

Also, check out the following link and see if it assists in converting the
ASP page over to a ASP.Net WebForm.
