visual studio .net setup: Hi, I actually got lucky in a thrift store and found Microsoft Visual
Studio .net 2002 professional edition, full version. I picked it up
because i knew it would be worth something. I want to sell it on ebay
or amazon.com, but I don't know how much it is worth. The software is
sealed and comes with Visualy Studio .net Knowledge pack. Do you know
what is a fair asking price, I've seen people on ebay have "buy it
now" for over $500 but I am not sure if they are being greedy or if it
worth that much (and if so, why are some people selling it for under
$200 dispite the fact their's is not an upgrade). So I'm just asking
for a good asking price and should I sell it on ebay (if so a 10 day
auction ending on a sunday) or should i put it on amazon

thanks for your help

One question and one observation.
Question: Are you sure the word "Academic" appears nowhere on the box? The
academic version sold for < $100 US to qualified buyers.
Observation: Check *completed* auctions for exactly the same product (it
amazes me how vague and nondescriptive so-called auction item descriptions
can be). and see what it actually sold for. Ebay is full of "sellers"
fishing for suckers.

yup, its not "Academic" version, i compaired the sku to another
sellers' sku and it was the same (they were selling a full version)
infact it says on the microsoft sticker part# 659-00844 which i
understand is the full version. there is no evidence of a ripped off
sticker that could of said "academic." the wrap is alittle loose
feeling so I am wondering if the previouse owner resealed it... which
doesn't make any sense since they didn't sell it/ return it (why else
would you reseal it) but it could be "loose" feeling b/c there's that
Knowledge pack that's suspented in the wrap outside of the box.
actually if you go to
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3661812886&category=4291

my item looks EXACTLY like that with the same sku, and come to think
of it, it looks like his wrap is alittle loose, so maybe that's just
how the true packaging is.. but why would someone get rid of this
software?

anyways, any idea on wither i should sell it on amazon or ebay, and
how much it's worth?

It's an obsolete version. It's worth whatever the market will bear, which is
the reason for the suggestion to check completed auctions. A quick look at
asking prices reveals prices in the $300 to $500 range.
