You're in the

visual studio .net setup:
I currently have Visual Studio.NET 2003 Professional installed on my
computer. I need to install Visual Studio.NET 2002.

Will this work? Is there anything I should look out for?

Thanks,

Jason

The products are separate and coexist on a single PC without problems (as do
the 1.0 and 1.1 versions of the .NET Framework), so there should be no
issues. Having said that, I admit that I've never tried to install in the
order you mention.
Lets see if someone else who actually installed 2002 after 2003 wants to
comment.

I believe this is not a problem....except for:
1. your visual studio file extensions probably will end up defaulting to
the VS2002 version...and not the vs2003
2. if working with web application - you will probably have to make sure
you have the correct version of asp.net running/configured for the VS.Net
version that you are running against. YOu can run the corresponding
vscommand prompt with the following command to help with that:
aspnet_regiis.exe /i
3. if and when you uninstall one of the versions, again you may end up
with some broken file extension associations - to correct this you might
have to do a repair/reinstall of the remaining product

QUESTION:
Why are you needing to install VS2002 version when you already have the
VS2003? You can build applications in VS2003 that target the VS2002
version of the Microsoft .Net Framework. You can do this by going to your
project properties and under "Build" there is a "Supported Runtimes"
setting that you can modify.

Hope this helps.

This does indeed help, as now I do not need to even install VS2002.

Thanks,
