visual studio .net setup:
I am trying to open a new project using ASP.NET in Visual Studio .NET 2003,
but it just sits there and does nothing. NO hard drive access or anything.
Have let it sit for over 30 minutes, and nothing changes.

I have ASP.NET ver 1.1 running, verified using several methods recommended
by Microsoft Knowledge base articles. Can even access HTTP:\\LocalHost\ but
nothing happens when I try to create a new project.

I have reloaded and reset VS.NET several times, with no change.

Any ideas?

Hi Ed

1. Are you using any Anti Virus program on your machine? If so, it's worth noting that some AV software such as Norton may prevent scripts from running. Please verify
2. Do you experience this behavior on any other machine with the same configuration
3. Has it worked before
4. Are you able to create simple Windows applications using VB.NET
5. Remove the network cable and see if you get an error messages
6. If you run on Windows XP Home edition, it's worth noting that ASP.NET cannot be run on this system. Since it's missing IIS

Best Regard
/Nic
