I need help to solve this error when i try to reinstall Visual Studio.NET 2002.
I got some errors as follows:(in errorlog.txt)

03/28/04,22:42:26] vs70uimgr: [2] CUIMgr::AddPageToList() : Call to CoCreateInstance() failed!
[03/28/04,22:42:26] vs70uimgr: [2] CUIMgr::LoadPages(): Could not add page to list from file: vs70pgui.dll with GUID: {bb81d810-3f9b-11d3-a50c-00c04f5e0ba5}

I can not load VS.NET IDE with this error. IDE can't work with a dialog "preparing to install" popup and disappear.

Did anyone face same problem? Any hints will be helpful!

thx

Hi Derek

If you have Office10 installed on your machine, this troubleshooting step should apply to your situation

To prevent the prompt from reappearing

1. Rename the folder C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Office10 so you can delete the MSO.DLL file
2. Launch Visual Studio .NET and let it repair one more time
3. Close and re-launch Visual Studio .NE

Best Regard
Nic

Hi, Nick,

Yes. I have Office10 installed on my computer.
Follow your instructions, i have repair VS.NET 2002 once a time.
But i still got the dialog"preparing to install", and IDE disappeared.

Anyway, thanks for your help. I will try to uninstall office XP if office xp
couples with VS.NET.

Bests,

Derek
