When installing MDAC 9.0 Beta1 during the WCU process, it report :

An error occured during the installation of assembly component
{45E04878-4B73-48E0-B1E7-B8FEFE19F8EB}, HRESULT:-2147010860.

How to solve this problem?

My environment is Windows XP SP1, IE6 SP1.

Thanks

Hi Lei,

It appears the HRESULT:-2147010860 is returning this message

"Manifest Parse Error : An Invalid character was
found in text content."

In researching, it may be due to the fact that the Indexing Service is
Started. Please check this, and if it is Started, then Stop it and restart
the installation.

One thing we may try is to clean boot the computer with MSConfig.Exe and
then execute the installation.

Start > Run and type msconfig and then click Ok
Select the Services Tab
Click Disable All
Locate the Windows Installer Service in the first column on this tab
Place a check mark beside it
Click Ok and Reboot the machine when prompted.

The below Microsoft Knowledge Base Article should assist:

310353 How to Perform a Clean Boot in Windows XP -
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=310353

If the above steps do not work, install the .Net Redist, J# Redist, and
then run setup with the /NO_BSLN_CHECK
