Getting into Directories ... Diahron Grismore

visual studio .net setup:
Using XPPro, VS.NET 2003 and ASP.net. I can not get into the directories to
retrieve data files. I continually get 'Login failed for user...!' I have
tried to register ASP.net, it appears to have worked. (followed information
from one of the post.) I get login failure in any web based application.
Local development programs-No problem-Only in web based programs. What am I
doing wrong and how do I fix it? It may just be me, but I have tried and
still trying to resolve this. And another thing I noticed: Right clicking on
any directory and clicking on properties, reveals that the directory is read
only! If I change it, remove the check mark, leave out of the directory and
recheck the properties of that directory immediately - "ReadOnly" has been
re-initialized!

Hi Diahron,

This sounds like a problem with IIS rather than ASP.Net or VS.Net.

You may try uninstalling and reinstalling IIS, or checking the permissions
through IIS Manager found in Control Panel > Administrative Tools.

Simply right click on the website that you are referencing and choose
properties.

Here is a couple Microsoft Knowledge Base articles that may assist in
troubleshooting the issue.
