Hello:

I installed Windows Server 2003 Standard edition to a VMWare virtual
machine, SQL Server 2000 with SP3, and the Visual Studio
pre-requisites and server components.

I can ping the virtual machine, IIS is working and Visual Studio on my
real XP machine finds the SQL Server instance on the VM. On the server
I created a virtual directory, added permissions for the ASPNET
account and VS Developers group. So far so good, but when I try to
create an asp.net project from Visual Studio on the real machine, I
get the error message:

"cannot find the components for communicating with the front page
server extensions"

The Visual Studio pre-requisites disk installs Front Page Server
Extensions 2000. I un-installed that and installed Front Page Server
Extensions 2002; still no go.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi George,

Have you tried to reinstall the FrontPage Server Extensions on the server
You might also want to install the .NET Framework as well on the server
