Visual Web Developer Express 2005 Beta fails to install? Brett

visual studio .net setup:
I'm trying to install Visual Web Developer Express 2005 Beta 1 on Win2k SP3. Once I get to the download part, it doesn't start downloading anything and crashes there. The error is setup encountered problems.

On the first try, it started downloading Ok. I wanted to test if resume on download was possible. I disconnected my dial-up and had to cancel the download at that point. After reconnecting, the setup always crashes right before the download point. I've cleared my browser cache and local settings temp directory but it still crashes.

Any suggestions?

thanks,

Brett,

This might be a problem with one or more ActiveX controls inside of IE.
Let's try clearing these out and then re-download. To do this, follow these
steps:

1. Launch IE
2. Go to Tools, Internet Options, and in the Temporary Internet Files area,
click the Settings button.
3. On the Settings dialog, click on the View Objects button.
4. Displayed is a list of ActiveX controls that IE is currently using.
Under Status, look for any controls that are listed as UNKNOWN or DAMAGED
and right click them, then left click on Remove.
5. If clearing the damaged and/or unknown controls doesn't work, you can
clear the rest of the controls from the list and then try the reinstall
again.

I rebooted a couple of times and the install worked.
