visual studio .net setup : Problem installing Visual Studio .NET 2003 Professional Academic with Epson Scanner on Windows XP SP2

Hi

I recently purchased an Epson Perfection 4870 Pro Flatbed Scanner and I installed the scanner driver prior to installing Visual Studio .NET 2003 Professional Academic on Windows XP with SP2. The IIS and FrontPage prerequisites installed without a problem. Then CD 1 of VS told me to insert the Prerequisite CD. When I do, oddly enough, the Epson scanner dialog opens up, which gives you scanner options and says press OK to start scanning. If I close that dialog, the VS installer exits. I tried turning off the Epson startup services, but that did not enable me to continue with the VS install. That Epson dialog still appears. I have yet to uninstall my Epson stuff, but I hope it does not come to that. Anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks

Hi again

After I uninstalled the Epson scanner software, the install of VS and MSDN went without a hitch. I reinstalled the Epson stuff and now everything seems to work as it should. Thanks anyway
