visual studio .net setup: 1 I have newly purchased licensed VS. NET Professional and am having the
following difficulty in setting it up.I am giving it in detail and would very
much appreciate some help to resolve the problem.
2 INSTALLATION OF Visual Studio.NET Professional 2003
3:53pm Loaded Disk 1;Visual Studio.NET, Set Up; Step # 2 highlighted;
message' you are now ready to install Visual Studio.NET'
4:00PM Clicked on Step # 2; Start Page Window; checked ' I Agree';entered
Product Key; QFCRV-3J8MX-3YRBP-4WJ2C-TBFKW; 'Install now' clicked
4:09pm Installation Stopped at Directory: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual
Studio.NET 2003\compact Framework SDK\v1.0.5000\Windows CE\wce400\mipsiv_fp\
; at File: sqlce.wce4.mipsiv_fp.CAB;Error Message Window; Error 1335 The
cabinet file '_2694_ssce20.msm rquired for thhis installation is corrupt &
cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from CD
ROM or a problem with a package'
Options: Retry; Cancel
Clicked Retry ; SAME ERROR MESSAGE DISPLAYED
Tried 9 more times; Same Error message
Clicked CANCEL
Installation Rolled back
Message: SET UP FAILED; There were errors during Set Up; View Erro Log;
View Set Up log; View readme file. NONE OF THESE THREE LOGS OPENED WHEN
CLICKED ON THEM.

MY NOTE: My computer is not a part of any Net work

Error 1335 indicates a possible issue with the distribution medium or with
your optical drive. Carefully check the CD in question for scratches *on the
top*. If any are observed that go through the top coating, the CD will
probably need to be replaced.
Do you have the option of trying the installation with a substitute optical
drive? If so, try it.
There have been issues with some optical drives needing firmware upgrades to
install VS 2003. Check with your drive manufacturer for firmware updates.
If your distribution media is bad, or the other possible steps don't solve
the problem, contact Microsoft Support via telephone and open an
installation incident. Installation incidents are free and don't count
against your free support incidents (number varies with edition), AFAIK.
BTW, it's probably not a good idea to post your install key in a public
forum.
