Connecting a Ce.net device to VS 2005?
Posted by Mark at 11/18/2005 12:00:00 AM
Hi,
I am trying to connect a CE.net 4.2 device to VS2005. In VS 2003 you had to
download CE.net utilities for Framework 1.1. Is there a 2.0 version?
Or is there a different method of connecting a CE device to VS2005? I have
already installed and connected through ActiveSync 4.0.

I have been trying to install VS 2005 Standard (the current production
release). No matter what I do, I can't get it to install. It begins
installing the .NET Framework 2.0 and then zips right thru all the
remaining options (like in 15 seconds). Then it presents an error
saying it couldn't insta... more >>
Installing VS 2005 Std on XP Home
Posted by Tom at 11/16/2005 1:31:57 PM
Is there any known 'issue' or limitation with installing and running
Visual Studio 2005 Standard under Win XP Home? As opposed to XP Pro? I
know Home doesn't have IIS, but I thought that ASP under VS 2005 no
longer needed IIS (has its own built in web server) so I don't think
there are any limit... more >>

I just spent 2 days downloading the Visual Studio 2005 Team Suite from
Microsoft's painfully slow MSDN servers.
>From the MSDN site:
Visual Studio 2005 Team Suite 180-Day Trial
The 180 Day Trial Edition is a time-limited, but fully functional,
version of Visual Studio 2005 Team Suite. It also... more >>
Express Web Dev breaks VS 2003/IIS
Posted by Ken Carter at 11/16/2005 10:37:11 AM
Eager to get started working with the new things in VS 2005 & .net 2.0 I
pulled down the Express Web Dev to get a lighter view of the tools before
putting VS 2005 in place.
Well EWD has apparently broken my dev setup with its 'own web server' that
directs to random ports for 'security'. Nic... more >>

Hi I went out and bought VS2005 pro. I had previously recevied SQL Server
Standard at a conference which I installed.
It appears VS installed SQL Server Express. Is it okay to remove teh express
version (I think in Add/Remove Programs it is referenced by "SQL Server
Desktop Engine") or do I... more >>
