Customizing the Start Page in VS 2005 Carl Rapson

visual studio .net setup: Is there any way to customize the Start Page in VS 2005? Specifically, I
want to modify the Getting Started box on the Start Page so that it displays
options for VB instead of C#. I was able to modify the RSS feed window to
VB-related topics, but I can't see any way to modify the Getting Started
box - no matter what I do, it always displays info for C#.

Thanks for any suggestions,

Carl Rapson

I had a similar problem.

For some reason, vs2005 decided that I wanted to start in J# mode. I do not
know what J# is and assume that it is a DOT NET oriented language.

My get around was to initiate VS2005 using a .sln file so that it loaded the
Visual Basic interface.

I could not find any checkbox or option box in the Options screens that
would enable me to alter this annoying behavior.

Neither was there any way to stop the Startup pane displaying on initiation.
It searches the web for updates and this is something that I may want once a
day. Not each time that I start VB2005.

Hopefully Microsoft will quickly improve the Options interface to allow a
user to modify the StartUp parameters.
