visual studio .net setup:

I was told that you had to add the Visual Web Developer as an option
when loading VS 2005.

I went back to add/remove components to add that option.

When I looked at the component list. The option for Visual Web
Developer Template was checked.

I did not see anything else. Yet I get no option for ASP.Net
application.

I have an option for create new web site.

Why is that?

"New Web Site" is VS2005 speak for ASP.NET project. You'll then get the New
Web Site dialog which will allow you to select a project template, language,
etc.

thank you that helps. Dont know why the msdn document said different.
It must have been pertaining to Vs. net 2k3.

Can you provide a link to the document in question?
You may have been looking at a VS 2003 document, or an early beta document.
I'd have to see it to render an opinion.

Looking at the topic treeview, the article you cite is under the Visual
Studio .NET node, not under Visual Studio 2005 node. Microsoft dropped .NET
from the product name with release of Visual Studio 2005.
Unfortunately, after looking for an article similar to the one you cite
under the Visual Studio 2005 node, I failed to find one.
