Please help - VS 2005 Pro FAILED INSTALL -- visual studio .net setup

I've uninstalled all pre-release versions (beta 2 and msdn lib), then
attemped the full install of Visual Studio 2005 Professional.
Two message:

The following component failed to install:
Microsoft Document Explorer 2005

....component was not attempted:

MS Visual Studio 2005 Pro Edition - ENU

Can anyone provide some advice, please ?

I am having exactly the same issue. VS Pro setup fails installing document
explorer 2005. I have tried the visual studio troubleshooting tool ttool.exe,
which found no problems.
