visual studio .net setup:
Attempting to install VS.Net Pro Feb 2005 CTP, I always get an error that the
installer can not copy ucs20.dll_0001.D0DF3458_A845_11D3_8D0A_0050046416B9
from the cabinet _13124_SdmModels.msm. This is on Win XP Pro. I have
uninstalled VS.Net 2003.

Looking at the log file in %temp% it appears this is the very first file
that it attempts to copy, immediately after completing many FolderCreate
steps.

I have tried mounting the ISO directly, copying the contents to a local
folder, and burning the ISO to a DVD. None of these have been successful.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

One of my colleagues has successfully installed the CTP version. Since you
failed in the copy, could you try install it on other machines? If it
exhibits the same problem, please try download that again and let me know
if it could resolve the problem please.

Not sure what may cause this problem, I tried installed CTP on a newly
setuped machine with all components selected. In the process of installing,
i did not receive any error. After querying ucs20.dll in our web, it bring
out office into the scene, could you first uninstall Office completely and
then try installing CTP again?

FYI, Visual Studio 2005 Beta 2 has been released, see:
http://lab.msdn.microsoft.com/vs2005/default.aspx
It should have more bugs fixed and should be more stable than the CTP
version. I think you may have interest to try it.

OK Rhett, I tried the install on my laptop, and had exactly the same problem.
Perhaps there's a problem with the MSDN download file?...
