The two can peacefully coexist on one PC. I have two such combinations in my
office. If memory serves, both had VS6 installed before VS.NET 2003, so I
cannot address your second question from experience.

Yes, VS 6.0 and VS.Net 2003 can be installed on the same machine (yeah..inthe same OS)

I have Win2K and have installed both ..and am able to work with both of them..( as I have to troubleshoot old Apps and have to parallaly program new apps on DotNet)..

The only thing you need to take care is to NOT TO INSTALL Visual-Studio Analyser while installing VS 6.0.
First install VS6 (uncheck the above option from the enterprise tools in the installation wizard..just that..)
and then u may go for Service pack installation and then .Net framework and then your VS.Net2003 IDE..
