After installing VS 2005 Beta 2 I get the following error when trying to open
any item in a project (form, class, config etc):
Package 'Visual Studio Settings and Project Designers Package' has failed to
load properly (GUID=xxxxxxxx). Please contact package vendor for assistance.
Application restart is recommended, due to possible environment corruption.
Would you like to disable loading this package in the furer? You may use
'devenv /resetskippkgs' to re-enable package loading.
After pression Yes or No I get the following :
There is no editor available for 'c:\document and
settings\.......\myproject.vbproj'. Make sure the application for the file
type (.vbproj) is installed.

I tried to unistall and re-install VS2005 beta 2 but nothing!

Any help you be really appreciated!

I have seen this error with various components in beta2, for us it seemed the
problem was leftover assemblies from previous versions of VS. The problem was
solved by just deleting these duplicate assemblies. Check out
c:\windows\assmebly.

Thanks Jimbo.
I have also read this thread on msdn forums:
http://forums.microsoft.com/msdn/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=1955

but since your solution seems much more simple... which duplicates do you
mean? I have many duplicate assemblies but they come from different framework
