visual studio .net setup:
I receive the message:
"Unable to install Visual Studio .NET on a 64-bit operating system"

This is kinda funny, because I had it installed yesterday, but chose to
re-install everything to clean up my disk partitions. And now, no goodness
for me.

Anyone have any thoughts? Google had no help; the only other mention I saw
of this problem was a posting to a different newsgroup that had no resolution.

So far, I have a pretty much box-stock XP install with some UI
customizations, Office 2003, Firefox, Winzip, and Visual Studio 6.0 / SP5.

Any help?

Frank,

Great Question!

VSNET02 & VSNET03 have not been regression tested on the 64-Bit platforms.
In light of that, you may or may not get it installed on the 64-Bit system.

If the system is an IA-64, neither of them will install.

If the system is an AMD (64-Bit), you may possibly get the VS03 product to
install.

Thanks, Tim.

I did eventually get it installed. Being as it was a brand-new X64 install,
I simply wiped the machine clean, reinstalled XP X64, and installed VS.NET
2003 before I did anything else. It then worked.
