visual studio .net setup: I attempted to install VS.NET 2003 and received internal error 25003 and the
install failed. This is a laptop that met the prerequisits, OS is XP Pro SP2
with SQL 2000 Developers Edition installed. I could not find an answer on
the MS site.

Generally, the internal error 25003 indicates that installation source is corrupted. I suggest you try copying the installation files
to the local workstations (if there are any errors reported in copying, please contact the vendor for a new disc), expanding it,
and then running setup from the hard drive.
