I do have the Visual Studio .NET 2003 Prerequisites CD where I'm installing
the components from but it gives the following error in the error log during
install:
[09/21/05,10:44:10] Microsoft Data Access Components 2.7 Service Pack 1:
CreateProcess launched with cmd line d:\mdac27sp1\mdac_typ.exe
"d:\mdac27sp1\mdac_typ.exe" /q:a /c:"dasetup.exe /Q /N"
[09/21/05,10:46:14] Setup.exe: IsRunningUnattended
[09/21/05,10:46:14] Microsoft Data Access Components 2.7 Service Pack 1:
d:\mdac27sp1\mdac_typ.exe exited with return value -2147467259
[09/21/05,10:46:14] Microsoft Data Access Components 2.7 Service Pack 1:
***ERRORLOG EVENT*** : Error code -2147467259 for this component means
"Baseline failed."
[09/21/05,10:46:14] Microsoft Data Access Components 2.7 Service Pack 1:

I ordered the CDs (Academic Edition) via MSDN Academic Alliance with my
university from MSDNAA website.
Thanks

Are the CD's from your MSDNAA Administrator, burned by you from downloads,
or purchased CD's? In any case, I'd suggest that you pursue getting
replacement media. I am the MSDNAA Administrator for my department and have
distributed at least 100 copies of VS 2003 to students with no issues such
as the one you describe.
