visual studio .net setup: I can't seem to install this on Win XP SP2 system. It keeps getting locked on
htmllite.dll even though the file is on the installation CD (through MSDN).

I have the same problem, but with vanilla WinXp & a little regedit hack to
bypass SP2 check...
I first thougth maybe my VS 2003 installation has something to do with it,
but after uninstalling, the problem remained... Even tried to manually copy
the file to the desired location, but it won't continue... :(

This is a standard problem with SP2. I've seen it when installing IIS. The
problem is in the windows credentials database. You have to run a very
obscure, at least to me, windows credentals database tool to fix the problem.


Try this command from the windows command prompt:

esentutl /p %windir%\security\database\secedit.sdb
