Was the VS 2005 you had installed earlier a beta or a CTP?
If so, did you follow all the steps in the published uninstall procedure?
Another question. Are you sure it is a CD you have and not a DVD? I notice
(from MSDN Subscription downloads) that VS 2005 comes on two CD's, plus
three more for MSDN documentation, or on one DVD.
If you did have a Beta or CTP release installed, follow the instructions
here to remove all components:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/support/uninstall/default.aspx

If what you have is a DVD, and your DVD drive is an older model, I suggest
you investigate firmware updates for the drive, as there have been issues
with certain makes and models with older firmware.
