I just did a fresh install of the Feb 2006 Vista CTP (5308), and am trying to
install VS2005 Team Developer Edition from an MSDN DVD.

I can get to the first screen of the installer (where I'm asked to choose if
I want to install Visual Studio 2005, install the MSDN documentation, check
for service releases, or view the readme). From that screen, I can view the
readme succesfully, but I can not install VS2005.

If I click on install VS2005, a second instance of setup.exe *32 appears in
the task manager. One of the instances of setup.exe *32 disappears from the
task list and then the other disappears. No errors, no warnings, no "windows
needs permission" dialogs. Just silent failure about 1 second after I click
on the install VS2005 link.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated (even ones as simple as "VS2005

Well I do have a simple suggestion, but please don't take it as anybody
shooing you away from this group. Good answers may well be forthcoming here.
I suggest that you also post in:

microsoft.public.windows.vista.general

There are a lot of beta testers who hang out there who probably have already
tried to install VS 2005 on the 5308 build.
