Hello, I'm a newbie here, so please forgive me if the following seems a
little simplistic. Does, or should, IIS 6 be installed on the same machine
as Visual Studio 2005, in order to have available the full range of VS design
features, or can / should IIS be installed on a separate box?

Hi Kascomm,

IIS6 isn't a pre-required component of VS2005 installation. When you create
a new ASP.net project\web site in VS2005, you can specify the URL which
points to a remote IIS server. Please refer to:

312073 Web project requirements for Visual Studio .NET or Visual Studio
2005 development
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;312073

Please let me know if anything is unclear.
