I have a VS 2005 installation that I am trying to add a component. If I go
to Add/remove programs or run directly from the DVD (from MSDN Subscription)
I get the same result. It goes to the first screen where it asks if you
want your info to be sent back to MS and initializes the install, ge... more >>

MDAC 2.7 Prerequisite
Posted by CRF450R at 6/27/2006 1:03:02 PM
I need at least MDAC 2.7. I'd love to make MDAC 2.8 a Prerequisite, but I
can't because MDAC 2.8 doesn't install on Windows XP SP1. You're required to
load SP2, an onerous requirement we do not want to impose on our users. I'd
like to add MDAC 2.7 as a Prerequisite, but I don't see a place ... more >>

VSTS and Biztalk on same machine

Is it possible to setup VSTS (single-server installation), VS 2005 and

Prevent Prerequisite Install

I'm using Visual Studio 2005. Is it possible to set up a prerequisite
(for Windows Installer 2.0) so that it doesn't download and/or try to
install the item, but rather simply outputs a message stating that it
needs to be done?
Thanks,

Check for running processes with setup

I have a setup which prefers that Word not be running during the

detect running processes and prompt the user to end the programs, generally
with retry/ignore/cancel as the buttons available to the user. Is there any
