Please provide details.
Are you referring to VS 2005 as on a MSDN subscription? If not, what "my
content" are you referring to?
What "Call centre" referred you to these newsgroups for assistance? It
sounds like you misunderstood their instructions, as public newsgroups are
not a place to get detailed installation key support.

If, by chance, you *are* referring to a MSDN subscription, the VS 2005
available from MSDN does not require a separate installation key.

After speaking to the Call centre on the telehpone, I have been advised to
post my question here.

The problem is that the key I use when trying to install Visual Studio 2005
from DVD isn't working.

When I access my content via the subscriptions page, I can see both visual
studio.net and visual studio 2005 in the drop down list,

If I go to visual studio, it displays a product key, but one that won't work
for Visual Studio 2005

If I go to Visual Studio 2005 , it doesn't display a product key.

The call centre was on 0800-0517215

Since the operator was unable to answer my question, she advised me to try
the "Online Concierge" link - which wasn't on my list of benefits. When I
mentioned this, she advised me to try here.

I am speaking of my MSDN subscription, I can post the number here if it
isn't a security breach.

I have tried the key for Visual Studio.net with Visual studio 2005, and it
doesn't work.
Any assistance in finding where I should get my support would be appreciated,

Try here:

http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/aa570318.aspx

Again, the MSDN download DVD ISO for Visual Studio 2005 has the key built
in. No separate key required.
