visual studio .net setup : Visual Studio 2005 crashing on install.

I have Windows xp sp2 installed on this machine and every time I try to
install vs2005. It installs the framework fine but crashes when it tries to
install the MSXML Parser 6.0. I have no clue what to do. I need to get
started on a vb project but I'm stuck on the installation. Any help please.
