Can't install VS2005 after Office 2007 Pro Trial

Can't install VS2005 after Office 2007 Pro Trial Larry Hodges

visual studio .net setup:
OS: XP Media Center Edition SP2, version 5.1.2600
System: Core 2 Duo 5500, 2gb RAM

I installed Office 2007 Pro Trial. Not the Beta, but the release version.
But I can't install VS2005. Setup informs me that I don't meet the minumum
requirements. It says the minimum required prerequisites is Office 2003
SP1.

I've searched MSDN. Also Google. Anybody have a solution? Is it that I
have the trial version of Office 2007 Pro installed?

Thanks in advance,
-Larry

Actually, you're not at all off topic, as your issue is with VS 2005.
Unfortunately, I don't have a suggested solution, but I can tell you that I
have installed Office 2007 (not the trial)and then VS 2005 here without
incident on a machine running Vista Ultimate.
What version of Windows are you running? You might also want to inquire in a
group dedicated in that OS.

I installed Office 2007 (the commercial version) on a computer with Xp
operating system, Visual studio 2005 and VSTO SE. Now I cannot create office
projects. The same thing happened on a Windows server 2003. Before installing
office 2007 I could create office 2003 projects on both machines. There are
some unresolved issues with Office 2007 and Visual studio 2005 working
together.
