I have created a windows setup for my .net 1.1
app. when i run the msi on a new(never been installed before) xp sp2
image(virtual pc), it installs correctly.
When I make changes to the app and create a new deployment project, i change

hey all,
i downloaded visual studio 2005 from msdn subscriptions and burned the image
to my dvd. i have a 2 month old pc duo core xp pro windows media center...
and i'm trying to install it on my virtual pc. but i'm getting the following

Our application is installed in the programs files directory and the
application needs to write in this directory. However, if the current windows
user has limited rights (not an administrator) the program will be fail
because of insufficient rights.

Hello,
There are some VS2003 features that I grew used to but I cannot find =
them in VS2005 (SP1).
1) I'd like to hide the "Scopes in" and "Functions in" dropdowns.
I use Visual Assist instead.
2) The tabs bar had right/left arrows that allowed me to have more than =

I have problems installing VS2005 on Windows XP professional. I
installed it on to D:\ProgramFilesD.
There are 12 GB free disk space in D drive. I logged on as
administrator to install VS2005.

I have installed VS2005 on the E: drive of a Windows 2003 server machine.
The E: has over 32 GB free space. When I try to install VS2005 SP1 it fails
and says there is not enough disk space. The C: drive is only 8GB and has

Hello:
When I chose to apply VS 2005 SP1 using Windows Update, it failed.
I then downloaded the SP from Microsoft site and when I ran it, I got the
message, "The installation source for this product is not available. Verify
that the source exists and that you can access it."

I'm running Win Vista Ultimate x64 and installed VS2005, then ran MS Update,
which found a security patch for VS and installed it. I then went and
downloaded SP1 for Vista, tried to installed it, and it gave this error (says

Custom Action on uninstall

My setup contains custom action(.net exe) to be launched on uninstall.
If after installation exe containing custom action is removed
uninstall failed with file not found exception.
I suggest that i have to add condition that checks existing of custom
action exe
