VS2005 uninstalling compact framework and mobile components

Excuse probably FAQ but haven't had any luck searching.
I installed VS2005 and a whole lot of other stuff came along for the ride -
compact framework and mobile stuff mainly.
As VS2005 is installed on a large immobile brick I don't see the value in

Tomorrow I'll be installing Visual Studio 2005 Professional on my new laptop
which will be running Vista ultimate. I think I remember reading somewhere
that there was a procedure in order to prevent errors when installing VS2005

I am trying to upgrade my VS2005 installation to SP1 on a Win XP box.
It has been running now for 3 hours and the progress bar has not moved
in ages. The task manager is showing that the exe is not getting any
CPU nor is it doing any I/O reads or writes. Is this normal? I've

when i try to install vs.net2003 i get the Visual studio.net set uo screen -
visual studio pre requisites is highlighted - this states that some of the
components do not match the versions required for visual studio .net and that

hi,
i am trying to install visual studio 2003 academic version on Vista but it
jsut does not install and this is what happens
put in the disk1 and it asks me for prereq cd
put in the prereq cd, it installs it and asks for CD1
i put in CD1 and nothing happens, almost like it dies

I can't find or install SP2 for the SQL Server 2005 Express edition that
installs with Visual Studio 2005 x64.

Hi, i have this problem that the Vs2005 installer is not detecting the .NET
1.1
framwork installed on my machine. It comes up with a list of installed
components its detected but the .NET 1.1 is not their. It detects .NET 2.0
ok.
Is this a known bug, please help.
