What would happen or will the the know problem if I have no installation of
SP1 Update for Vista?
I just installed VS2005 SP1.

Maybe nothing will happen, other than you won't get any support for
Microsoft...

Since you've installed SP1, why on earth would you not install the Vista
Update patch too...?

I tried to install SP1 for Vista but did not get thro'.
This was the error I got right after I press install:

"The upgrade patch cannot be installed by the Windows Installer service
because the program to be upgraded may be missing, or the upgrade patch may
update a different version ofthe program. Verify that the program to be
upgraded exists on your computer and that you have the correct upgrade
patch."

My Vista is the Ultimate edition.

It's possible that SP1 didn't install properly - maybe try installing SP1
again, and then try installing the Update patch...

In VS 2005 Help->About, do you see SP1 at the bottom (scroll down) of the
installed products list?
If not, it didn't install.
Either way, I've found that these large patches install better if you
download the entire patch, then install from your local hard drive. You may
want to consider that option.
