There have been numerous issues reported relative to the NVIDIA drivers
released through Windows Update, and your selective nondisplay problem
sounds like a video problem. I had a somewhat similar issue a while back
with text not displaying in HoldEm. A quick trip to the NVIDIA site
downloads for the latest Vista drivers took care of it. FWIW, my VS 2005 has
been OK throughout.
Get the latest drivers and see if it helps...
