visual studio .net setup : Team Foundation Server Workgroup fails to isntall

Tried multiple times to get this installed ... followed the instructions to
a "t"

even explored these "recommendations

but nothing .. can't seem to get past

thanks but unfortrunately i did follow to a tee on the instructions ... for
posterity i ran using auto-answer scripts and also fail at the same point.

Is there some known issue with Windows 2003 R2 server and already having SQL
2005 SP2 installed ?

i determined hte issue ...

basically after installing SQL2k5 .. i did not install SP1 (since SP2 is
out) and missed the step for adding the Dotnet2.0 hotfix (since that the
documentation calls it out in the checklist ordering in the latest
documentation download).

I followed the checklist to a tee this time not the other procedure outlined
in the documents and it worked out ..

net: don't take the latest and greatest .. follow the order of the
documentation

ugh what a pain .

Of course now after installing team explorer on my dev box windows update
wants to push down SP1 again .. geez good job servicing ;)
