visual studio .net setup : How to install VS 2005 Professional on VISTA

Hi, I have tried installing VS2005 Pro from DVD 3070.1 as suggested by
someone from MSDN support.

It successfully installs the document manager, then asks for the dreaded
ENU-1 disk, which (not to my surprise) is not in my MSDN Pro DVD collection.

There is no proceeding from there.

Q1: Is there a version of VS2005 that will install correctly under Vista?

Q2: Since my Vista computer is not connected to the internet, even if the
answer to Q1 above is yes, what am I to do?

The suggestion that I should use one of my (generous supply of) 2 incidents
to solve this problem is repugnant!

Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance.

Try downloading the ISO, burn and install from that. I've done it that way
with no issues, and we do it that way for our students under the MSDN AA
program. Unless you have a unique PC issue, it should work for you.

VS2005 Pro does install on Vista. It won't run correctly without SP1 and the
VS service pack for Vista, but it doesn't sound like you've gotten that far.

In the past, I've found that installation support is not charged for. Call
the 800 number on the back of your legit MSDN card and ask for help with
installation. I'll bet they can walk you through it without charging. In
general, Microsoft has been good about helping people get started with
Microsoft technologies. It might be that you have a bad DVD, in which case
you can download or order one made by Microsoft.
