I have installed IIS 5.1 in my xp professional windows,
but after installed and run i can't browse the site. When
i type 'localhost' in navigator bar appears the next
message:
HTTP 500 - Internal server error
Internet Explorer

I have a win98 guy hitting my SSL site to download some files.
I have anoymous turned off, clear text on, and winnt inegrated on.
The site won't accept his login.
However, going to the same site as http rather than https, he get's in fine.
Hw can I get him in under https?

Can I use IIS MetaEdit 2.2 Utility on IIS 5.1 which is part of Win XP Pro
Sp1,,, In other words is this the right Utility compadability wise to use
with IIS 5.1 I was jest woundering becuse it's not documented anyway that it

Over time my NT4.0 server has had a number of spammers installing long
hierarchies of illegal filenames when setting up rogue HTTP and FTP
sites. The files have been long removed, the security holes plugged

When you sign on you are not on a secure page. Therefore your userid and
password are not secure.
Sure, they send you to a SSL page, but that is after you have sent your
userid and password over the net.

I've got a problem from users trying to browse my site.
The server is on Windows 2000 with IIS 5.0.
Some of the visitors appear to receive 'garbage'
characters without any message (like "page cannot be
displayed") in their browser when they try to enter to my
