Cannot access localhost under Windows XP Service Pack 2

Hello,
since my installation of Windows XP Service Pack 2 I cannot access
http://localhost.
I get a HTTP 500 error (Server Application Error: The server has encountered
an error while loading an application during the processing of your request.

I had Personal Web Server already installed on my old
computer, Windows 98 system. I understand this was
replaced by IIS on Windows XP, but the documentation says
it will only work on the Professional Edition! Is there

I am trouble setting up mulitple web site on IIS(4.0),
NT4 service pack 6.
The new website always default to the default web site.
I have :
setup a new ip adress in the DNS
add a A address
Please help

We've run into a situation with Windows 2003 Web server edition where IIS 6
caching and continuing to server old content after the source files has been
edited.
