I am getting an IIS error 1053. IIS is started, but www and ftp are on
starting. If I try to restart it I get a 1053 error. I also can not
open the
IIS shortcut. I try to do a net start and get the service is started.

I have two iis servers on the same machine sharing port 80 and an ip address.
Thus, I am distinguishing between the two via host header names. I've
refreshed the dns server and can access the seperate websites successfully

I develop sites on XP machines and would like to use urls in the format of
/<dir>/page.htm in the pages throughout the site. Since XP does not allow
you to create multiple sites, only multiple virtual directories, so the

Very strange thing has happened this morning.
Our setup 2xXeon 3 GHz 1gb Ram. Running II6 on win2003 together with

Have stopped the website and copied it's folder structure over to a new
server running IIS 6. Have allocated the same IP address as on the original
server running IIS 5.0 and subsequently removed the IP address from the

I must migrate a simple bat file
(just echo ok) from iis5.0 to iis6.0
on iis5.0 I had declared the mapping
..bat to c:\...\cmd.exe /c %s %s is was ok
on iis 6.0 with the same declaration and also activation in web service
extension
the file is never launched.
