Hi. I have just installed all the parts of the IIS 5.1 on Windows XP
Professional. When I installed I went onto the internet and typed
http://localhost which when I normally do that it comes up with the
home page to IIS which also provides some of the help files. However
instead it asks me for a username and password. I have never had to do
this before. Once I put the password in it then comes up saying that
Internet Explorer cannot disply the page. I have tried uninstalling
IIS and then reinstalling it but this has made no difference. I have
Internet Explorer 7. I am presuming that IIS does work with IE 7 but I
am not sure. If any one could help me with matter it would be highly
appreciated.

Thanks for your help

Hi all. Don;t worry about this now. I have managed to fix it. It was a
problem to do with the security. IF anyone else has this problem check
the properties of the default website and check the security.

cheers
