Hello,

I am new to .NET. I have been playing around with it for just under a
year now and I am finding many inconsistencies with regard to the
proper way to get vs.net to behave the way I need it to. For example,
I am getting many error messages that I totally cannot interperet and
I wrote a few pages in notepad. So I decided to open up those pages in
vs.net in hopes to use the intellisense technology provided by the IDE
in order to see if I am using the correct method etc. and perhaps to
try and run the pages. Unfortunately, I am getting no intellisense nor
can I use the "run" button. What's going on? I tried creating a new
project/solution and that didn't help either.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

This url:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/tryit/

gives you a chance to try VS.NET online, for 3 hours. You do not need to
install it on your own machine !

Also there is a link there to lab exercises that will allow you to get to
know the IDE.
