New to IIS, Why won't IIS 5.0 serve up my ASP web pages?
I get an error on my IE "HTTP 500 Internal Server
Error". Do I need to configure IIS someway to serve up
ASP web pages? Can't find anything in setup concerning

Turn off friendly errors in INternet Explorer and hit the page again. It
will likely give you a better error description.

Nothing has to be done for IIS 5.0. With IIS 6.0 (Windows Server 2003), ASP
has to be allowed, but not for Windows Server 2000 (IIS 5). You should be
able to drop the pages (and any supporting files) and start running the app.

Sometimes the global.asa file is the problem, esp. if you use it to link to
DLLs.

I think it would be useful to watch the system event journal.
Maybe the error is not connected directry to the IIS.
For example, I had like error through the authentication in
DCOM.
