I generally think of a shopping cart as a fancy name for a session
array. And here is a some good resource that includes how to use

dnt worry jim, i know the previous answers are about as much use as a
chocolate fireguard :) there are one or teo good ones, i suggest using
ashopcart which is downloadable from hotscripts.com, its not amazing and the
admin sux but if you can work your way through it its fine...

the second is commersus.com which is more complete but unless you upgrade
the payment processing and order management is very limited...
