Im thinking that this is as simple as putting graphics in an email, and then your email either has the file embedded within it or linked to your server? But i just wanted to check with the experts on if this was the case or if im forgetting an important factor?

Many thanks in advance.

Unfortunately, it is not as "easy" as standard HTML.

Although you can certainly design something that can ultimately be sent via email, the recipient is almost always going to have trouble opening and viewing it unless you can specifically target their email client.

Most of the applications we use for our own Flash Email are third-party or hosted tools (none are all that public, sorry..Outlook is certainly not a good one to use for mass mailings.)

You can find a wealth of information about Flash Email, HTML Email and other Template topics here:

and specifically for Flash Email here:

Hope this helps.. I'm working on some updated tips and tricks this month.

Cheers,

Tom

[quoted text, click to view]

you can mail Flash to people w/o problem , the only consideration that comes
in mind is the SIZE , not many will like to receive bulky mails ...
But that's strictly in your discretion , check :

There is an outlook express stationery group where flash embedded in email
is done all the time and they have all the script and techniques you need.

try the microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress.stationery
newsgroup (hosted by the free news.microsoft.com and other newsgroup
servers)

Thanks for all your responses - please keep them coming.
I havent looked at the referring links and tutorials you have all offered yet - but i WILL this evening.

Initial question though:

If you link to a movie hosted on your server and not embedded in the actual email, shouldnt the email be a very small size anyway and you avoide the problem of huge emails?

Thanks again,

Cesca
