flash (macromedia) : resize (transform) doesnt work on movie clip

I have a movie clip on the main timeline that I am having problems resizing.

Its one of those things that seems REALLY SIMPLE, but I cant get my mind around what the problem could be...

If I click on the resize tool I dont get handles on the MC, I've clicked on and off it and the only thing I can do to the MC with the resize tool active is move the centerpoint.

If I type ANY percentage into the Transform window, it changes it to 35.2%

Unfortunately I dont need it to be that small.

Am I missing something?
Has anyone had (& resolved) this problem before?

thanks

Have you tried just resizing the instance of it in property inspector? If you're concerned about multiple uses of the mc, then save the newly-resized instance of the original mc as another name, delete the original mc, and then rename the new mc with the same name.

i know this problem Laura, i think it's just some bug, it usually comes out if you check out "constrain", and set manually width and height percentage, and i discover, that it comes out after unchecking "constrain" and set equal percentage of width and height, and after that all seems to work fine, can set any percentage, W & H...
