flash (macromedia) : Flash MX crashes while saving.....

Hi all,
I have been experiencing an issue that has grown from a minor anoyance to a major pain in my coffee cup.

I am running Flash MX (v6.0 r25) on Windows XP Pro
2.8Gb P4
1GB DDR333 RAM

Its like this:

Whenever I try to save one document as another which already exists, Flash goes into a hard crash and must be shut down via the control panel.

For example, if you have a home.fla and you wish to save a copy of this .fla as home_bk.fla ,
if home_bk.fla already exists Flash will simply crash every time.

If you delete the original home_bk.fla before trying to save another document with that name, there is no issue.

Has anyone else had this problem?

I've had some WTF issues with MX 2004, but not since the first few days. It
is quirky; my libraries disappeared tonight, and I had to restart it.

and I agree it's a HUGE annoyance. As far as I know, the only way to avoid
it is to delete the files you're going to overwrite (or move them to a
different folder) before you do a "save as.."

I'm just bumping this topic because I also have this problem with Flash MX and I agree it's a HUGE annoyance. As far as I know, the only way to avoid it is to delete the files you're going to overwrite (or move them to a different folder) before you do a "save as.."

Of course if you're like me you'll forget to do this 50% of the time and end up losing your work. NO fun.

Is this exclusive to Flash MX, or does MX 2004 have the same problem, too?

Does same issue occur in safe mode? If not, then there could be just some conflict with other drivers or applications that are running in the background in normal mode. You might want to check out this link:
