Does anyone know how to activate simple mode in the actions panel in mx 2004? I can't see where. It's different from the old mx.

ARGHHH!!!! This question gets asked at least once a day!!!!

It's called "normal" mode and it's been removed in MX 2004.

I think it's really stupid to remove this. Every other suite has a great assist to speed up work. Action script is crappy enough as it is.

I imagine there's a few ARGHHH's coming from Macromedia regarding people
upset about the demise of normal mode as well :):):)

I saw that MM has disabled the email address for the wishlist (has to be via
web page form now). They say it was due to spam (probably was) .. but I
couldn't help that little cynical part of me wondering if it might have been
all the people complaining about Normal mode disappearing ;):);):)

I think if behaviours were a little better integrated into the expert mode
editor, and the code they produces less wordy, then that would appease many
of those who miss normal mode.

BTW: Does not having a normal mode now mean only abnormal people can write
script? :):):)

BTW2: Its a shame there cannot be a mechanism when posts are made that
automatically searches for previous posts on the same topic and shows the
users those before they are allowed to post the same questions over and over
again :):):)

Actually I'm both.

asp,jsp,sql,java,php etc etc etc.

Action script is truly a poor language. I hate working with it. I think Macromedia made it as difficult as possible.

It's really not Macromedias language (just their implementation of it) ..
its (yet to be finalised) JavaScript 2. And AS2 was JavaScript 1

Mind you neither are full implementations
