flash (macromedia): newbie question -- flash (macromedia)

flash (macromedia): brand new to web design. have just completed a great looking site that has a flash header on each page by modifying a purchased template. the problem is this: on some old browsers, or in the case of a Sun platform browsing through netscape for example, it will not launch the auto-prompt to install the flash plugin. in that case, of course, none of the flash header is displayed. how can i remedy this, or how do i set it so that if the browser doesn't have the plugin, that the header can be displayed without its animations so that at least the user can see it (and use the buttons on it)? thanks for your help!

forget about older browsers - you wil just give yourself a recurring
headache whenever you make a new site..

i figure if it works fine on the latest 2 versions of the major
browsers (test on a mac too), then that's the limit of what you can
do.

there are just too many combinations of browser versions, plugin
versions, OS versions and flash versions to possibly test every one.
