Hi,
Forgive me if there is obvious information on this here. Is there a
standard way to pause, rewind, and fast forward flash movies?

Do you know any good tutorials on it?

Heh, actually I was going to send strong bad an email suggesting that
they put in content controls. Have you seen
http://www.homestarrunner.com ? I have no idea how they are built.

Not a big deal. Thanks for your help!

no, there is no standard , such controls must be done individually for each projects.

Could you narrow down a little please .
Will that be for video file or movie clip ?
Would it be for frame by frame animated clips ?
Not all flash content can use such , action scripted animation
will be much more complicated to control than timeline based.

these are easiest because are made frame by frame , usually with stream sound on
main timeline.
to stop such all you need is _root.stop(); to resume _root.play();
