Does anyone have an answer on KERNING DYNAMIC TEXT? stompp

flash (macromedia): Hi all,

I can't seem to find any help on kerning/ tracking text in dynamic text(fields).
All I can find (on this great-big-internet) are workarounds, like using seperate MC's containing a textField for a single character.
This creates a whole new problem:
One would have to define so many variables to get the text positioned right, that the term "dynamic" wouldn't apply anymore.
Furthermore, one would have to go through a lot of trouble to determine and define wide and narrow characters and assign different values to their "kerning" behaviour; or using multiple fonts or sizes or <b>, <i>, and on...

My main concern is wether "kerning/ tracking/ spacing" dynamic text is even possible (without the restricting workarounds) using FlashMX (NOT Flash2004).

Can anyone help me on this one please?

Michel

No deal. In MX2004 maybe using stylesheets, but haven't tried that yet.
Seems however that you can do quite a lot with that.
