Super newbie in Flash so everything seems impossible but this stuff is cool.

In this one how does the page scroll up and down and the image on the left not move?

I'm afraid that's' not flash , simple html .
The image on top is in table cell while the other image is a background.
In html you cans set to block background from scrolling so whatever you scroll is on top of it,
moving

Here again :) not much of actual flash in this one . Pretty basic flash
action wise .
You could do or will do same stuff in a week or two of using flash .

Then menus are just Images Sequences imported from some other application.
Frame by frame animation which is placed into movie clip and run on RollOver
action .

It is a copy of idea from famous german site call www.derbauer.de
They do changes often but they still keep older versions
